While many fans anticipated that Patch 7 would mark the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has exciting news: another significant update is slated for release in 2025. This update promises to enrich the gaming experience with features like crossplay support and a photo mode, and it will introduce 12 new subclasses, each offering unique mechanics to enhance gameplay.

Details on four of these subclasses have already been shared, and now we're excited to delve into the remaining ones: Oath of the Crown Paladin, Arcane Archer, Drunken Master Monk, and Swarmkeeper Ranger.

Oath of the Crown Paladin

The Oath of the Crown Paladin is dedicated to upholding justice and order, prioritizing the welfare of society above all else. This subclass is equipped with the Divine Devotion ability, which not only absorbs incoming damage directed at allies but also restores their health, making it a formidable support class in any party.

Arcane Archer

Blending martial prowess with arcane magic, the Arcane Archer is a unique class that uses enchanted arrows to devastating effect. These arrows can blind, weaken, or even temporarily banish enemies to the Feywild. Additionally, if an arrow misses its mark, the Arcane Archer has the remarkable ability to redirect its flight path to hit another enemy, ensuring no shot goes to waste.

Drunken Master Monk

The Drunken Master Monk brings a unique twist to combat by incorporating alcohol into their fighting techniques. Their signature move intoxicates foes, leaving them disoriented and vulnerable while simultaneously boosting the monk's own abilities. Utilizing the Instant Sobriety technique on an intoxicated target inflicts both physical and mental damage, making this subclass a versatile and unpredictable force on the battlefield.

Swarmkeeper Ranger

Harnessing the power of nature, the Swarmkeeper Ranger forms alliances with swarms of creatures to aid in combat and survival. These swarms not only shield the ranger from harm but also facilitate teleportation. In battle, the ranger can deploy three distinct types of swarms: electric jellyfish clusters that deliver shocks, blinding moth clouds that disorient foes, and stinging bee legions that can knock back enemies failing a strength check by 4.5 meters, adding a strategic element to their combat approach.
