CI Games has outlined what fans can look forward to for Lords of the Fallen 2 at Gamescom's Opening Night Live, explaining how this sequel has been molded by player feedback following the original game's challenging launch.

Built as a completely standalone follow-up to 2023's Lords of the Fallen, this Unreal Engine 5 sequel features two interconnected worlds to discover, with a significantly expanded Umbral realm and shared campaign progression in online cooperative play.

"Having sold more than 2 million copies and welcomed over 5.5 million Lampbearers into Lords of the Fallen, our successful return was undoubtedly driven by our community," stated CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski. "With Lords of the Fallen 2, we are taking that further. Our 2024 announcement reaffirmed our core commitment to being a player-first studio. The V2.0 update embodied that pledge: we listen, we adapt, and we deliver. This new installment is constructed upon that very same principle."

Additional features confirmed today include optional player-versus-player combat and customizable game modifiers.
