The stress test for Baldur's Gate III's eighth, and potentially final, major patch has begun. While some Sony console players received early access, players who haven't participated in the stress test are advised to reinstall the game before joining.

Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can now invite friends regardless of their platform. Even modded gameplay is supported, provided all mods used by the PC player are also available on Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby doesn't exceed ten mods.

Xbox Series S users will finally be able to enjoy split-screen co-op, a feature previously unavailable on this console.

Further additions in Patch 8 include a deeply customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding significant depth and variety to character builds. Numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments have also been implemented, although some issues may persist. A complete changelog for the stress test is available on the game's official website.
