The September Nintendo Direct gave us a closer look at upcoming Switch games, including the surprise announcement of a Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection for Switch alongside a Mario Movie sequel. And as we all know, a new Switch game typically means new amiibo figures will follow.

With that in mind, Nintendo is releasing two new Super Mario Galaxy amiibo. One is Mario and Luma, and the other is Rosalina and Lumas. These amiibo are $39.99 each and set for an April 2, 2026 release, even though the game arrives on October 2 – one day before the Mario movie sequel hits theaters. You can preorder the figures now, but they've already sold out on Amazon and Walmart. Stock could return, but it's not guaranteed. Here's where you can currently find them.

This Mario and Luma amiibo is simply perfect. Mario’s flying pose is a direct callback to the Super Mario Galaxy cover art. The figure also stands on a round patch of grassy earth, reminiscent of the small planetoids you explore in the game. It includes a Luma character and a Launch Star, capturing the essence of the entire Galaxy experience in a single collectible. It’s a pretty cool piece, in my opinion.
