Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – Dracula, Fantastic Four, and Balance Changes

Get ready for the chilling debut of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls in Marvel Rivals! NetEase Games has unveiled a developer update brimming with exciting news, including a new villain, fresh characters, map additions, a revamped game mode, and significant balance adjustments.

The season kicks off on January 10th at 1 AM PST, introducing Dracula as the primary antagonist and welcoming the Fantastic Four to the roster. Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman arrive on day one, with Human Torch and The Thing joining the fray six to seven weeks later. This expansion adds considerable depth to the already diverse hero selection.

Season 1 also boasts three new maps and a thrilling new game mode: Doom Match. A robust battle pass, costing 990 Lattice (approximately $10), offers 10 enticing skins and rewards players with 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion.

Balance Adjustments:

This season sees significant balance changes aimed at creating a more dynamic and fair gameplay experience. Hela and Hawkeye, previously dominant forces, will receive nerfs to address their overwhelming power in higher-ranked matches. Conversely, mobility-focused Vanguards like Captain America and Venom will receive buffs to enhance their effectiveness in aggressive playstyles.

Further adjustments include buffs for Wolverine and Storm, encouraging players to explore new strategic approaches using these iconic mutants. Cloak and Dagger also receive enhancements, designed to improve their versatility within different team compositions. Finally, adjustments to Jeff the Land Shark are planned to better align his early warning indicators with his ultimate ability's actual hitbox. While his ultimate's power has been a point of discussion, NetEase Games hasn't announced major changes to it at this time.

While the developer update remained silent on the Seasonal Bonus feature, speculation abounds regarding potential changes to hero bonuses. This feature has generated controversy, with some players believing its removal would improve overall game balance.
