Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse
NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair competitive advantage provided by increased control sensitivity and aiming assistance retention.
NetEase employs sophisticated detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspensions for violators. The company stated that such devices create an imbalance, particularly in competitive game modes.
Separately, the game has also been experiencing issues related to high FPS and increased ping. Higher frame rates appear to correlate with higher ping, potentially impacting gameplay significantly. While a definitive solution awaits a future patch, some players suggest maintaining an FPS around 90 as a temporary workaround. This is a unique situation compared to other titles like Counter-Strike 2, where higher FPS is generally preferred. Players are advised to monitor their FPS/ping ratio and await an official fix.
