Metal Slug: Awakening is a modern reimagining of the beloved 90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally launching in Southeast Asia in late 2023 before its global release.

For those unfamiliar, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, debuting in 1996 and created by Nazca Corporation. It has since expanded into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) existed, Awakening promises a significant upgrade.

This new installment stays true to the core gameplay while boasting enhanced visuals and new mechanics. Expect to see familiar faces and embark on fresh missions. Features include a World Adventure mode, 3-player cooperative team-up battles, and challenging Roguelike elements.
