Konami producer Noriaki Okamura, in a recent IGN interview, subtly acknowledged the strong fan desire for a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake and next-gen ports. While avoiding concrete confirmation, Okamura's comments, coupled with the release of Master Collection Vol. 1, strongly suggest MGS4's future inclusion. He stated that Konami is "internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series," hinting at ongoing discussions about the game's future.

The possibility of an MGS4 remake has been a major topic of conversation among fans, particularly given the PS3 exclusive's absence from modern platforms. The success of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which brought remastered versions of the first three games to PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC, further fuels the speculation.

Last year, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, adding fuel to the fire. IGN reported these titles as likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2, although Konami hasn't officially confirmed this.

Adding to the buzz, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project last November.
