During his conversation with IGN, Boon emphasized the creative freedom the team has in designing the characters. He stated, "Obviously, we could do anything with the characters, but I don’t think we’re going to have both Homelander and Omni-Man have heat vision or something like that." This approach ensures that players will feel like they are controlling two very different heroes, each with their own unique set of abilities and playstyles.

Boon also highlighted how the team draws inspiration from the heroes' actions in their respective shows to craft their Fatalities. He explained, "They’re definitely going to play differently. The main attacks are going to really differentiate them, but we’re definitely aware of the assumption that some people were making on, ‘Oh, they’re just going to be the same characters.'” This commitment to diversity in character design promises an enriched gaming experience for MK1 players.
