Monster Hunter Rise: Farming Sharp Fang Guide
Hunting for resources in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can be a rewarding but sometimes challenging endeavor. Sharp Fangs, a crucial crafting material, are particularly sought after for early-game gear like the Chatacabra and Talioth armor sets. This guide will walk you through the best methods for finding and farming these valuable items.

Early in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, the Windward Plains offer your first opportunity to acquire Sharp Fangs. Optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding" provide convenient access to this area, granting you a generous 50-minute time limit. Remember to prepare with a hearty meal before embarking on your hunt!
Once in the Windward Plains, head to Area 8 – the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures here have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs, one stands out as the most reliable source:
Gaijos: Your Primary Target

Gaijos, small crocodile-like leviathans, are typically found near or in riverbeds, usually solitary. Their location is easily identified on the map by purple diamond markers near water sources. These creatures are relatively weak, making them easy targets even with starting weapons. Defeating a Gaijo guarantees a single Sharp Fang upon carving its carcass.

With several Gaijos usually spawning in Area 8, and the ability to repeatedly access the Windward Plains through optional quests, farming Sharp Fangs from Gaijos is an efficient strategy.
Talioth: An Additional Source

Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), also have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs, though it's not guaranteed. While they’re slightly tougher than Gaijos, they still pose minimal threat with early-game equipment. Hunting Talioths also conveniently progresses the "The Desert is Demanding" quest, requiring the defeat of eight Talioths.
This guide covers the most effective methods for farming Sharp Fangs in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Be sure to check out our other guides, such as our comprehensive guide on using the Great Sword.
