Monster Hunter Wilds: Second Open Beta Test Announced for February!
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? A second chance arrives in early February! This expanded beta test offers returning players another opportunity to hunt, and newcomers a first taste of the action before the game's official launch on February 28th, 2025.
New Monster, New Content
Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel. The beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This time, players can hunt the Gypceros, a familiar foe from previous Monster Hunter titles.
Character data from the first beta is transferable to the second and, ultimately, the full game. However, progress will not carry over. Participating in the beta earns players in-game rewards: a Stuffed Felyne Teddy weapon charm and a special bonus item pack for the full game release.
Tsujimoto explained the decision for a second beta, stating the team heard player requests for another chance to play and wanted to accommodate those who missed the first opportunity. While recent community updates detailed upcoming improvements, these changes won't be included in this beta test.
