Monster Train Is a Slay the Spire-Like, Out Now on Android
Monster Train, a captivating roguelite deck-building game, has made its way to Android after successful releases on PC in 2020, consoles, and iOS in 2022. Often compared to Slay the Spire due to its genre and gameplay, Monster Train brings a unique twist to the mobile gaming scene.
What Does Monster Train Bring to Android?
Set on a train journeying into the frozen heart of hell, your mission in Monster Train is to safeguard the last burning pyre from heavenly invaders. What sets Monster Train apart is its innovative three vertical lane system. Unlike most games where you battle on a single field, here you manage three lanes simultaneously, adding a strategic depth to your gameplay.
As you progress, you'll unlock over 250 cards across five distinct monster clans, each with unique playstyles. The ability to mix and match two clans at a time offers endless strategic possibilities. Every clan features ten levels of upgrades, allowing you to access more powerful cards as you play. Champions, crucial to your strategy, can be upgraded multiple times, enhancing their impact on the battlefield.
The Android version of Monster Train is packed with all the latest updates, including Wild Mutations and Friends & Foes. Wild Mutations introduces 35 new mutators and new difficulty settings, while Friends & Foes adds new champions, bosses, cards, and artifacts to the mix. Additionally, The Last Divinity DLC enriches the game with a new clan, the Wurmkin, which you can unlock by defeating Covenant level 1. This DLC also introduces the Pact Shards mechanic and a formidable final boss, 'The Last Divinity,' enhancing the game's replay value.
Will You Try It Out?
The Android version of Monster Train is fully playable offline, including in airplane mode, and is available for $10. While there are in-app purchases, they are primarily for unlocking the full game. Once purchased through your Google account, your game progress can be carried over across devices thanks to cloud saves. However, note that there is no controller support. You can explore Monster Train further on the Google Play Store.
