Moon Knight's Return Confirmed, No Season 2 Planned, Says Marvel Exec
Marvel enthusiasts have been buzzing about the future of Moon Knight in the MCU, but it appears a second season of the Disney+ series is off the table. In a recent chat with ComicBook, Brad Winderbaum, the head of Marvel Television, confirmed that while fans can look forward to more adventures featuring Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight, these won't be part of a Season 2 of the show.
Since the release of Moon Knight in 2022, Marvel Television has shifted its strategy. Initially, the plan was to introduce characters through standalone series that would then connect with larger MCU projects. A prime example is Kamala Khan, who debuted in Ms. Marvel before joining the big screen in The Marvels. However, Winderbaum explained that the approach has evolved, moving towards a more traditional TV model with annual releases.
"We're making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television," Winderbaum stated. "I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."
While Moon Knight fans might not get a direct continuation, Isaac did lend his voice to the character in the third and final season of the Disney+ animated series Marvel's What If...? There's no concrete news yet on his return in live-action format.
Looking ahead, the MCU's TV lineup is packed with exciting releases. Fans can anticipate Daredevil: Born Again in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man rounding out the year in December.
In other news, Marvel Television has reportedly hit pause on three projects: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. However, Winderbaum hinted at an exciting prospect: the potential reunion of the street-level heroes from Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders.
