The long-awaited details about the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally been unveiled, and the specifications are more impressive than many anticipated. The new console supports up to 120fps and can reach 4K resolution when docked, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor.

During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased various features of the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to the original Switch, maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. The screen resolution is enhanced to 1080p in handheld mode, supporting up to 120fps, and it's an LCD screen with HDR capabilities. When docked, it can also support 4K resolution and HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers feature a magnetic connection and can be detached using a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, making them more comfortable for horizontal play, and the left and right sticks have also been increased in size. Additionally, the Joy-Con 2 controllers now support mouse control, adding a new dimension to gameplay.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also features a larger, more robust stand that can be adjusted to various heights. A top USB port allows for external camera connectivity and charging the system in tabletop mode.

The Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
