Nintendo Switch 2 Cost Revealed
Following today's Nintendo Direct event showcasing the Switch 2, Nintendo officially announced the console's retail price at $449.99 USD.
The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5, 2025, with today's full reveal preceding April 9 pre-order availability.
"Building upon eight years of innovation since the original Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 represents the evolution of home-and-on-the-go gaming," stated Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.
"Its advanced features unlock new gaming potential, marking significant progress in our mission to bring joy to players worldwide."

- Joy-Con 2 controllers (left/right)
- Joy-Con 2 Grip attachment

- Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle retails for $499.99 USD, combining the system with a downloadable version of Mario Kart World (available from launch). Purchasing separately would cost $529.98, making the bundle a $30 savings.
While console pricing always generates discussion, the Switch 2's announcement comes during unique economic conditions. As industry analysts noted earlier this year, supply chain challenges and potential tariffs may have influenced Nintendo's pricing strategy. Nevertheless, experts anticipate strong launch sales regardless of price point.
