Nintendo is expanding the availability of its interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, as announced via their Twitter (X) account. Starting in March, you'll find Alarmo on the shelves of Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers globally. No more Nintendo Online membership required – everyone can join the fun! Get ready to wake up to the sounds of your favorite Nintendo worlds for $99.99 USD.

While many celebrate this news, the buzz surrounding a potential Switch 2 announcement continues. Nintendo, however, remains tight-lipped on that front.

Alarmo's Instant Popularity

Alarmo's popularity exploded after its October 9, 2024 launch. Demand was so high that Nintendo temporarily suspended sales on the My Nintendo Store in Japan, switching to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. A similar situation occurred in a New York City store, selling out instantly and promising updates on restocking.

"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."

Wake Up to the World of Nintendo

Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. This interactive device features delightful sound effects and visuals from beloved Nintendo games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. Choose from 42 scenes at launch, with more free updates planned, including additions from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The alarm experience is unique: a character from your chosen scene appears on the screen. As the alarm sounds, the character playfully wakes up. A visitor then arrives, and you can gently wave or move to quiet the alarm. Snooze too long, and a more insistent visitor appears, intensifying the sound until you finally rise and shine! Thanks to a motion sensor, you don't even need to touch the clock to silence it.

Beyond the fun alarm features, Alarmo offers hourly chimes, sleep sounds matching your chosen scene, and sleep pattern tracking. For those sharing a bed with others or pets, the Button Mode is recommended. While a Nintendo Online membership was initially required, this is being removed for the wider release in March 2025.
