Unlocking the Parabolic Microphone in Phasmophobia

The Parabolic Microphone isn't given to you at the start; it's an unlockable item. To get your hands on it, you'll need to reach specific levels in the game. It features three tiers, each offering improved performance and reliability.
- Tier 1: Unlocked at Level 7.
- Tier 2: Unlocked at Level 31, costing $3,000 to upgrade.
- Tier 3: Unlocked at Level 72, costing $5,000 to upgrade.
Once unlocked, you can equip up to two Parabolic Microphones, regardless of your team size. Remember, prestiging resets your level, requiring you to unlock each tier again.

Using the Parabolic Microphone in Phasmophobia

To use the Parabolic Microphone, equip it from the in-game shop before starting a contract. It's added to your loadout in the truck. Note that Challenge Mode may have a different preset loadout.

On medium and large maps, the Parabolic Microphone is invaluable for locating ghosts through sound. Listen for clues like objects being thrown, doors moving, or the ghost's voice. It can also help complete optional objectives requiring you to record the ghost's voice. Certain ghosts, such as the Deogen or Banshee, have unique sounds only detectable with this device, making identification easier.
