Pokémon Go Director on Scopely: No Need for Fan Concern

After the acquisition of Pokémon Go developer Niantic by Scopely, the company behind Monopoly Go, fans have expressed significant concerns ranging from increased ads to issues surrounding personal data privacy. However, a recent interview with Michael Steranka, a product director at Pokémon Go, featured on Polygon, aims to alleviate these worries.
In the interview, Steranka praised Scopely and emphasized that both Niantic and the Monopoly Go developer share similar visions. He confidently stated that Scopely would not introduce intrusive ads into Pokémon Go. This is a key reassurance for players who value their gaming experience without disruptive interruptions.
For those concerned about privacy, Steranka was clear and direct: Niantic will not share or sell player data to third parties. He concluded the interview by affirming that the transition to working under Scopely would minimally impact Niantic's team, if at all.
If it ain't broke...
While some might worry about increased corporate influence, I believe Scopely will maintain a hands-off approach with Pokémon Go. The game has been, and continues to be, highly successful. The more significant business move appears to be Niantic's new spin-off team, which is focused on expanding AR technology applications.
Steranka also highlighted the close involvement of The Pokémon Company in the decision-making process for Pokémon Go. This partnership suggests that any actions not aligned with The Pokémon Company's standards would be unlikely to occur now or in the future.
