Pokemon Sleep's Development Transitioned to Pokemon Works

From Select Button to Pokémon Works: A New Chapter for Pokémon Sleep

Launched in March, Pokémon Works, a subsidiary of The Pokémon Company, has now assumed the mantle of Pokémon Sleep's development and future updates from Select Button. An in-app announcement (via machine translation) revealed that Pokémon Sleep's development and operation will gradually transition from Select Button to Pokémon Works.

This announcement, initially appearing in the Japanese version of the Pokémon Sleep app, lacks current visibility in the global app's News section. The impact of this change on the international version remains uncertain.

While Pokémon Works' portfolio is currently limited, Representative Director Takuya Iwasaki's website greeting indicates the company's origins lie in a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd. Furthermore, Pokémon Works shares a Tokyo location with ILCA, known for developing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and co-developing Pokémon HOME. Iwasaki confirmed Pokémon Works' contribution to Pokémon HOME.

Despite their relatively small history of Pokémon-related projects, Pokémon Works aims to "create an experience that makes Pokémon more real... so that everyone can enjoy meeting and adventuring with Pokémon." The application of this vision to Pokémon Sleep remains eagerly awaited.
