Best Decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket
Deck construction is crucial. Here are the top-performing decks currently available:
S-Tier Decks
Gyarados Ex/Greninja Combo
This deck utilizes a synergistic approach. The strategy revolves around using Druddigon (x2) as a sturdy 100 HP wall that inflicts consistent chip damage without energy investment. Simultaneously, Greninja (x2) applies additional chip damage, acting as a secondary attacker. Finally, Gyarados Ex (x2) delivers the knockout blow once the opponent's Pokémon are weakened. Supporting cards include Froakie (x2), Frogadier (x2), Magikarp (x2), Misty (x2), Leaf (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), and Poke Ball (x2).
Pikachu Ex
Currently the dominant deck, Pikachu Ex (x2) excels with its efficient 90 damage output for only two Energy. This aggressive, fast-paced deck also incorporates Zapdos Ex (x2), Blitzle (x2), Zebstrika (x2), Poke Ball (x2), Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Sabrina (x2), and Giovanni (x2). Optional additions like Voltorb and Electrode provide further attack options and strategic retreat capabilities.
Raichu Surge
A variant of the Pikachu Ex deck, this strategy leverages Raichu (x2) and Lt. Surge (x2) for powerful surprise attacks. Pikachu Ex (x2), Pikachu (x2), Zapdos Ex (x2), Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Poke Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), and Sabrina (x2) provide support. While Raichu's energy discard can be a drawback, Lt. Surge effectively mitigates this. X Speed facilitates quick retreats.
A-Tier Decks
Celebi Ex and Serperior Combo
The Mythical Island expansion boosted Grass-type decks, with Celebi Ex as a key component. Serperior's Jungle Totem ability doubles Grass Pokémon energy counts, significantly enhancing Celebi Ex's damage potential through increased coin flips. Supporting cards include Snivy (x2), Servine (x2), Dhelmise (x2), Erika (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Poke Ball (x2), X Speed (x2), Potion (x2), and Sabrina (x2). However, this deck is vulnerable to Fire-type decks.
Koga Poison
This deck focuses on poisoning opponents and exploiting that weakness with Scolipede (x2). Venipede (x2), Whirlipede (x2), Koffing (x2), Weezing (x2), Tauros, Koga (x2), Sabrina, and Leaf contribute to the strategy. Koga facilitates free Weezing deployment, while Leaf reduces retreat costs. Tauros serves as a powerful finisher against Ex decks. This deck is particularly effective against Mewtwo Ex.
Mewtwo Ex/Gardevoir Combo
This deck centers around Mewtwo Ex (x2) supported by Gardevoir. The goal is to quickly evolve Ralts (x2) and Kirlia (x2) into Gardevoir, maximizing Mewtwo Ex's Psydrive attack. Jynx (x2) provides stalling and early-game attack options. Supporting cards include Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Poke Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Sabrina (x2), and Giovanni (x2).
B-Tier Decks
Charizard Ex
Charizard Ex (x2) boasts high damage potential, but its reliance on specific draws makes it less consistent. Moltres Ex (x2), Charmander (x2), Charmeleon (x2), Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Poke Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Sabrina (x2), and Giovanni (x2) are included. The strategy involves using Moltres Ex and Inferno Dance to build energy for Charizard Ex.
Colorless Pidgeot
This deck utilizes basic Pokémon for consistent value. Rattata (x2) and Raticate (x2) provide early-game damage, while Pidgeot's ability forces opponent switches. Supporting cards include Pidgey (x2), Pidgeotto (x2), Poke Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Red Card, Sabrina, Potion (x2), Farfetch’d (x2), and Kangaskhan.
This tier list reflects the current meta and is subject to change with future updates and card releases.
