The monster is back for more: the teaser trailer for the upcoming sci-fi action sequel Predator: Badlands has just hit the internet, sending fans into a frenzy.

In the captivating sneak peek, we are introduced to Elle Fanning's character, who appears to inhabit a perilous, distant planet in the future. What sets this installment apart is the intriguing twist that the Predator she encounters might not be your typical antagonist; in fact, there's a hint that this Predator could be the protagonist. "The director of Prey welcomes you to a world of pain," teases the trailer, setting the stage for an intense cinematic experience.

Intriguingly, *Badlands* doesn't shy away from its connections to the Alien universe, sparking speculation that it might lay the groundwork for a new *Aliens vs Predator* film. There are clear nods to the Alien franchise, including Elle Fanning's eyes displaying the iconic Weyland Yutani reboot effect, hinting that she may be a synthetic character. Additionally, a glimpse of the Weyland Yutani logo on a damaged vehicle further cements these ties.

Predator: Badlands was first announced in February 2024, with its release date confirmed in October of the same year. The trailer made its exclusive debut at CinemaCon earlier this month, and now fans everywhere can finally get a taste of what's to come.

At CinemaCon, 20th Century Studios unveiled the official synopsis for the film: "In the future on a remote planet, a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary."

"Something unprecedented happens in this movie," Elle Fanning shared with the audience at CinemaCon. "My character is not the one being chased. My character actually teams up with the Predator. And you get to see him in a completely new light. And... I'll stop there!"

Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for his work on 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Predator prequel Prey, Predator: Badlands is co-written by Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison. The film is slated to premiere in theaters on November 7, 2025, promising a fresh and thrilling addition to the iconic franchise.
