For completionists playing Pokemon TCG Pocket, the Promo Card section is usually a satisfyingly short list to complete. However, the enigmatic Promo Card 008 is currently causing frustration.
The Appearance of Promo Card 008
The Promo Card section appeared complete until January 2025, when a new, unobtainable Promo Card 008 slot suddenly appeared between Professor Oak (007) and Pikachu (009).
While the numbering suggests it's existed for some time, it wasn't previously visible as a blank space. Its sudden appearance has left players eager to know when they can acquire it.

Unveiling Promo Card 008
Although currently unobtainable, investigation reveals its appearance. Checking the "Related Cards" section for cards like Red Card (006) or Pokedex (004) shows a greyed-out version of Promo Card 008. This card depicts an alternate art Pokedex surrounded by Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.
The card's information page confirms its unowned status and notes it will be "obtained from a campaign," similar to the New Year 2025 Pikachu card (Promo 026). This differs from cards acquired through missions or Wonder Pick events, which have specific event-related descriptions.
The exact release date and method of obtaining Pokemon TCG Pocket Promo Card 008 remain unknown. However, for those seeking a complete collection, hopefully, it will become available soon. In the meantime, hiding unowned cards in the settings offers a temporary solution.
