Guns Undarkness Demo Arrives at Steam Next Fest

Mark your calendars! A free demo of Guns Undarkness will be available during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. This exciting project brings together a stellar team, including Shoji Meguro (music), Ilya Kuvshinov (character art, known for Ghost in the Shell), and Lotus Juice (music, known for his work on Persona 3).

Meguro, a veteran composer at Atlus since 1995 (with credits spanning the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series), transitioned to indie development in 2021 while continuing collaborations with Atlus. Guns Undarkness, a sci-fi stealth action JRPG published by Kodansha Game Creators Lab, is his latest venture.

Initially unveiled at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021 and successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign in 2022 (reaching all stretch goals!), Guns Undarkness is poised for its demo debut. Experience the game firsthand during Steam Next Fest, starting February 24, 2025. Early Access is planned for later in the year.

Inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Persona

Blending the tactical stealth of Metal Gear Solid with the JRPG elements of Persona, Guns Undarkness throws you into a 2045 dystopia teetering on the brink of collapse. As a member of a private military company, you’ll embark on critical missions, forge alliances, and unravel the world's secrets to save humanity.

Gameplay seamlessly blends stealth and turn-based combat. Utilize the environment to remain undetected, gaining a crucial advantage in subsequent encounters. Engage in strategic turn-based battles, commanding your squad and employing a variety of firearms to overcome your foes.

The demo offers approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, guiding you through tutorials covering controls, the battle system, weapons, and early-game strategies. Expect around 10 hours of playtime in the Early Access release, slated for Spring 2025 on PC. A precise release date is yet to be announced.
