This impressive milestone comes shortly after the game hit 8 million sales, showcasing its enduring appeal. The surge in sales can be attributed to the release of the Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition in February 2023 and an iOS version of the remake towards the end of the same year.

The Resident Evil 4 remake, launched in March 2023, revisits the 2005 classic where players control Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to rescue the president's daughter, Ashley Graham, from a sinister cult. Resident Evil 4 has not only broken sales records but also holds the title of the fastest-selling game in the Resident Evil series, as noted by Alex Aniel, author of the fan book "Itchy, Tasty: An Unofficial History of Resident Evil." To put this into perspective, Resident Evil Village had sold just 500,000 copies by its eighth quarter, highlighting the remarkable performance of Resident Evil 4.

Given the success of Resident Evil 4 and the series as a whole, fans are eagerly anticipating Capcom's next moves. Many are hoping for a Resident Evil 5 remake, especially considering the short interval between the releases of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes.
