What To Do When a Teammate Dies in R.E.P.O.

At the start of each round in R.E.P.O., your health begins at 100. You can sustain damage from monsters or even your own equipment, like Human Grenades. To recover lost health, use the Health Packs found at the Service Station. Teammates can also share their health by approaching another player and interacting with their health bar. This clever feature is something more games should implement, but that's a topic for another time.

Despite these various methods to stay alive, the monsters in R.E.P.O. can occasionally shift into a higher gear and take out members of your squad. When a teammate falls, their head drops to the ground for you to retrieve. Keep an eye on where your ally died or check the map, which displays the head's location with a small icon matching their character's color. Unfortunately, locating the head is just the first step.

Where To Revive Teammates in R.E.P.O.

Once you have the head in your inventory, make your way to the extraction point. Place the item there, and provided you've met the round's loot requirement (visible in the top-right corner of your screen), your teammate will respawn with 1 HP. They can then enter the truck to regain some additional health, ensuring they're not a burden to the team. After that, it's back to the action. There's also an alternative method to revive teammates if retrieving the head isn't an option.

If you can't reach your squad member's head for any reason, simply starting a new round will also revive them. This functions similarly to Call of Duty Zombies, where rounds are self-contained and fallen players return when the next one begins. While this approach can be less ideal—leaving you shorthanded for the remainder of the round—it can sometimes be a strategic advantage, especially for newer players. The reset allows them to observe more experienced teammates and avoid being put in difficult situations.
