Director Robert Eggers, renowned for his atmospheric gothic horror, is set to enchant audiences once more with a sequel to the cherished 1986 film, Labyrinth. As reported by Variety, Eggers will not only helm this highly anticipated project but also pen the script alongside his collaborator from The Northman, Sjón. This follows the stalled efforts of a previous sequel attempt by Scott Derrickson, which saw no progress since 2023. Now, TriStar and Jim Henson Pictures are moving forward with Eggers to breathe new life into the dark fantasy world originally brought to us by Jim Henson, featuring the iconic performances of David Bowie as the Goblin King Jareth and Jennifer Connelly on her quest to save her baby brother amidst a labyrinth filled with enchanting Henson puppets.

Beyond the realms of Labyrinth, Eggers is also diving into the supernatural with a werewolf movie titled Werwulf, slated for a Christmas 2026 release.
