Roia Is the Latest Tranquil Mobile Game from Award-Winning Indie Studio Emoak

This innovative puzzle-adventure is the latest creation from Emoak, the acclaimed indie studio behind titles like Paper Climb, Machinaero, and the award-winning Lyxo.
Surprisingly, Roia's core objective is deceptively simple: guide a river to the sea. Starting from a mountaintop, players gently direct the water's flow by shaping the terrain with their finger.Emoak's press release reveals the deeply personal connection Roia holds for lead designer Tobias Sturn. His childhood memories of playing in a creek behind his grandparents' house, building waterwheels and bridges with his grandfather, profoundly influenced the game's creation. The game is dedicated to his grandfather, who passed away during its development.
Roia defies easy categorization. While challenges exist, the primary focus is on relaxation and a tranquil experience. The journey unfolds across beautifully crafted environments—forests, meadows, charming villages—guided by a helpful white bird offering subtle hints.
The game's elegant, minimalist aesthetic, reminiscent of Monument Valley, is immediately apparent from the screenshots. Beyond the visuals, Roia boasts a captivating soundtrack composed by Johannes Johannson, who also worked on Emoak's Lyxo.
