These dire wolves, embodying the fantasy of any Game of Thrones enthusiast, are large, white, and undeniably awe-inspiring. The team utilized DNA from a 13,000-year-old tooth and a 72,000-year-old skull to create these healthy dire wolf puppies, showcasing the power of advanced technology in what he described as "indistinguishable from magic."

Colossal Biosciences isn't new to making headlines. Previously, they engineered a "Colossal Woolly Mouse," resembling a mammoth, using computational analysis of various mammoth genomes. Critics argue that the dire wolves are essentially normal wolves in a spectacular guise, as the existing dire wolf DNA might not be sufficient for a true genetic clone.
