Sonic Rumble, although not yet globally launched, has already kicked off with an exciting crossover event dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is currently live and will run until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide launch scheduled for May 8th.

Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is available in over 40 countries. The game had its first pre-launch in Summer 2024 in regions including the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. Its second pre-launch extended to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.

What’s in Store?

If you're in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you can participate in the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. The event brings back the Altered Beast crew, allowing you to unlock the Werewolf transformation for free. Fans of nostalgic beast modes can also acquire the Werebear and Weredragon transformations. The Weredragon is exclusively available through the Premium Pass, while the Werebear might be purchasable with regular rings.

Adding to the excitement, Fantasy Zone's Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa are now part of the game. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments, each costing 700 standard rings.

Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee have also joined the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. To unlock AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. Check out the crossover event in action below:

During matches, you can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos. Although it might seem unusual for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has assured fans that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again later.

This initial crossover event showcases a deep dive into SEGA's rich catalog, featuring monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and were-creatures interacting with Sonic and his friends, making Sonic Rumble a highly anticipated game.
