Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections!

EA and Maxis are marking The Sims' 25th anniversary with a fantastic surprise: The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are back on PC! Available now are The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, sold individually or together in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle ($40).

These comprehensive collections include nearly all expansion and stuff packs for both games. The Sims 2: Legacy Collection notably omits the IKEA Home Stuff pack (2008), but otherwise offers complete packages. Bonus content sweetens the deal, with The Sims 1 receiving a "Throwback Fit Kit" and The Sims 2 boasting a "Grunge Revival Kit."

This marks a momentous return for these classic titles. The Sims 1, originally a disc-only release, has been inaccessible for years to those without physical copies. While The Sims 2 had a brief resurgence with an Ultimate Collection (2014), that version was later removed from EA's Origin store. These Legacy Collections ensure all four main Sims games are readily available digitally.

Our original reviews lauded The Sims 1 (9.5/10) and The Sims 2 (8.5/10) for their charm, simplicity, and enduring challenge. Despite the series' evolution, the originals retain their unique appeal.
