睡眠不足将导致选手在名为“睡眠格斗家”的新街头霸王锦标赛中受到惩罚。本周早些时候宣布的这项官方卡普空支持的赛事，由制药公司SS Pharmaceuticals组织，以推广其助眠药物Drewell。
“睡眠格斗家”锦标赛是一项团队赛，每支队伍由三名选手组成，他们将进行“三局两胜”的比赛，以积累最多的积分并获得胜利。积分最高的队伍将晋级下一轮。除了通过胜利获得积分外，队伍还将根据其记录的睡眠时间获得“睡眠积分”。
在“睡眠格斗家”锦标赛前的一周，每位队员每晚必须至少睡六个小时。如果一支队伍的总睡眠时间未达到126小时，则每少睡一小时将扣除五分。此外，总睡眠时间最长的队伍将有权决定比赛的比赛条件。
SS Pharmaceuticals正在推广这项活动，以证明睡眠的重要性，该公司表示，充足的睡眠对于以最佳状态发挥至关重要。他们的活动口号是“让我们接受挑战，让我们先睡个好觉”，旨在提高人们对睡眠的认识，并鼓励日本人民养成健康的睡眠习惯。根据官方网站，睡眠格斗家是第一个将睡眠不足作为惩罚规则的电子竞技锦标赛。
