Sony PlayStation State of Play Scheduled for Next Week
Sony is reportedly gearing up to unveil its anticipated February PlayStation State of Play broadcast during Valentine's Day week, from February 10 to 14. This exciting news comes from reliable leaker NateTheHate, who previously nailed the timing of Nintendo’s Switch 2 announcement.
With the State of Play on the horizon, speculation is rife about what Sony might showcase. Let's dive into the lineup of first-party titles slated for 2025. Sucker Punch's eagerly awaited Ghost of Yotei could be in the spotlight, possibly giving fans a glimpse of gameplay and a concrete release date.
Bungie's PvP extraction shooter, Marathon, might also make an appearance, especially if they're gearing up for playtesting later this year. Haven Studios' debut game, Fairgames, is another title to keep an eye on. Naughty Dog's newly announced IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine are also potential highlights. Additionally, we might get a fresh trailer for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which is set to launch in 2025.
However, don't expect to see any of the recently canceled live service games from Sony. Last month, Sony pulled the plug on two unannounced live-service projects in development at Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, the latter reportedly being a live-service God of War title. While Bend Studio's project remains shrouded in mystery, Guerrilla Games' live service Horizon game reportedly made it through the cuts. Could this be the moment for its grand reveal?
Moving on to third-party possibilities, Kojima's upcoming stealth-action PlayStation exclusive, Physint, might be a bit premature for a showing. On the other hand, Phantom Blade Zero, the action-packed hack-and-slash RPG from Chinese studio S-Game, seems a more likely candidate.
Don't forget about Microsoft's growing presence on PlayStation. With Indiana Jones and the Great Circle set to hit PS5 soon, we might see a release date announcement. There's also the tantalizing possibility of Microsoft using the State of Play to unveil Halo's arrival on PlayStation.
To predict what's to come, it's useful to look back at last year's State of Play, which featured an impressive array of games including Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic x Shadow Generations, various Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine’s Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2.

- Death Stranding 2
- Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
