Beyond: Two Souls TV Series on the Way from Star Elliot Page

Elliot Page's Pageboy Productions is adapting Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls into a television series.

According to Deadline, Pageboy Productions secured the rights from Quantic Dream to develop the video game into a TV show. The project, currently in early development, aims to retain the game's non-linear storytelling. Further details, including casting and release dates, remain undisclosed.

Page described his experience filming the game as "one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences" of his career, highlighting the story's "rich narrative and emotional depth." He emphasized the desire to create a unique adaptation that resonates with both existing fans and new viewers.

Matt Jordan Smitt, head of development and production at Pageboy, stated the team's intention to honor the game's legacy while incorporating fresh perspectives. He emphasized the themes of survival and the impact of crucial decisions on individual lives as central to the narrative.

Originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2013, Beyond: Two Souls later appeared on PlayStation 4 (2015) and PC (2019). Directed and written by Quantic Dream's David Cage, the game follows Jodie Holmes, a young woman with psychic abilities who interacts with a spirit named Aiden. Its non-linear structure explores various periods of her life, and it featured prominent actors like Page and Willem Dafoe.

Cage confirmed his collaboration with Page on the TV series, though the specifics of his involvement are yet to be revealed. He expressed his enthusiasm for the project, praising Page's performance and his confidence in Page's ability to create a unique television adaptation.

The Beyond: Two Souls TV series is still in its early stages. For now, you can read IGN's original review of the game here and find all of our Quantic Dream game reviews here.
