Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's inaugural venture into the Star Wars universe, is set to close its doors just over a year after its launch on iOS and Android. The game, which debuted in June 2024, quickly captured attention with its unique blend of game show flair and innovative takes on Star Wars archetypes.

It has now been confirmed that Star Wars: Hunters will cease operations on October 1st of this year. A final content update is scheduled for release on April 15th. In response to the shutdown, in-game currency is now available for refunds, and certain seasonal events will be rerun as part of an extended third season.

Fans eager to experience the last hunter, Tuya, will still have the chance to play with them in multiplayer mode. Tuya will be introduced in the final content update and will be available to all players for free from the start.

The announcement of the game's closure came as a surprise, as there were no clear signs that Star Wars: Hunters was underperforming. Given Zynga's robust standing in the industry, it's likely that broader market factors contributed to the decision to discontinue the game.
