The much-anticipated first story expansion for Star Wars Outlaws, titled "A Pirate’s Fortune," has finally arrived on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, much to the delight of fans. The driving force behind this new DLC? None other than the charming rogue, Hondo Ohnaka.

Drew Rechner, Creative Director at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment, shared with IGN that the team's deep affection for Hondo Ohnaka, the Weequay pirate known from the Darth Maul comics and Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, was the inspiration behind the expansion. "We always knew because there were so many passionate people on the team that we needed to feature Hondo. And, you know, that scoundrel fantasy of Kay mixing with the pirate fantasy of Hondo, it just kind of makes sense, right?" Rechner explained.

In "A Pirate’s Fortune," players will dive into a new adventure that introduces the Rokana Raiders crime gang and the Miyuki Trade League, the latter of which can provide Kay with essential upgrades for her Trailblazer ship. Additionally, a new blaster capability called Shock adds a thrilling twist to the gameplay.

Rechner also teased the game's upcoming release on the Nintendo Switch 2, set for September 4. While he remained tight-lipped about specific new features for this platform, he assured fans that more information would be forthcoming. "In terms of a specific feature set, that's something that we will get into later. So we'll have more stuff to talk about later," he hinted.

Some speculated features for the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws include the use of controllers as a mouse and a new GameChat capability, promising to enhance the gaming experience even further.

"And we also knew that Kay would be kind of coming into her own, learning what it means to be a leader, and then having someone like Hondo as a mentor—or is he?—we thought it led to really interesting things," Rechner added, leaving players eager to explore the complex dynamics between Kay and Hondo in this exciting new chapter of Star Wars Outlaws.
