Stellar Blade's Latest Update Introduces Game-Breaking Bugs

The eagerly awaited Patch 1.009 for Stellar Blade has arrived, bringing the highly anticipated Photo Mode and the NieR: Automata collaboration DLC to players. However, the update has not been without its issues, as it has introduced some game-breaking bugs that have impacted gameplay. Players have encountered a softlock when attempting to progress a specific main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing further advancement. Additionally, using the selfie camera in Photo Mode has led to game crashes, and there have been reports of new cosmetic items failing to render correctly on the protagonist, Eve.

Shift Up, the developers behind Stellar Blade, have acknowledged these problems and are actively working on a hotfix patch to address them. They advise players against forcing quest progression, as this could lead to permanent softlocks even after the patch is released. It's recommended to wait for the hotfix to ensure a smooth gaming experience.

NieR: Automata DLC and Photo Mode Enhancements

Patch 1.009 also introduces a significant collaboration with NieR: Automata, a game that the developers cite as a major inspiration for Stellar Blade. This collaboration, facilitated by the mutual respect and creative synergy between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro, results in 11 exclusive items available through NieR character Emil, who has set up shop within Stellar Blade's universe.

The introduction of Photo Mode has been a long-awaited feature, allowing players to capture personalized snapshots of their favorite characters. With this update, players can now pose protagonist Eve and her companions for stunning photos. To enhance the Photo Mode experience, new photo challenge requests have been added, encouraging players to explore the feature's full potential.

Alongside Photo Mode, Eve receives four new outfits and a new accessory that alters the appearance of Tachy Mode, available after completing a specific ending. Customization options have been expanded with the addition of a "No Ponytail" setting, allowing for more varied looks for Eve. Other improvements include lip-sync support for six additional voice-over languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes, all contributing to a more refined gameplay experience.
