Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases its revamped gameplay and numerous additions. The action RPG, originally a PS Vita exclusive, now arrives on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC on January 10th, boasting enhanced visuals and gameplay mechanics.

The game retains its core loop: battling colossal mechanical creatures known as Abductors, harvesting their components, and upgrading equipment for progressively challenging encounters. Set in a resource-depleted dystopian world, players assume the role of a "Sinner," sentenced to complete missions for their Panopticon (city-state). These missions, ranging from citizen rescue and Abductor extermination to capturing control systems, can be tackled solo or cooperatively online.

The Remastered version significantly upgrades the original. Visually, it offers a substantial leap, reaching 4K resolution at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC, 1080p at 60 FPS on PS4, and 1080p at 30 FPS on Switch. Gameplay is faster-paced, incorporating enhanced movement and streamlined weapon attack cancellation.

Crafting and upgrading have also received a major overhaul. The interfaces are more intuitive, and modules are now freely attachable and detachable. A new module synthesis feature allows players to enhance modules using resources gained from rescued citizens. Finally, a challenging "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode caters to experienced players, and all original customization DLC from the PS Vita release is included.
