Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update

Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for their live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of content development for the game, although online servers will remain active.

Initially launched in February 2024 to mixed reception, the game's live-service model ultimately contributed to its short lifespan. Announced on December 9th, 2024, the decision to cease development after only 10 months on the market came as little surprise. Despite this, Rocksteady assures players that all online features will remain functional.

Episode 8 introduces significant new content, including:

• Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set that manipulates enemy damage output.
• Notorious Weapons: Powerful new weapons, such as The Silencer's Complete Silence and Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets, offer unique gameplay advantages. Chronos' Equilibrium caters to an aggressive, high-damage playstyle.
• Mayhem Mission: A final showdown against Brainiac.
• Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards) and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
• Bug Fixes: A comprehensive list of bug fixes addresses various gameplay, UI, audio, and performance issues.

A December update (Episode 7) introduced offline play, allowing players to access the main campaign and seasonal missions without an internet connection. While Rocksteady hasn't announced a server shutdown, this offline mode ensures continued accessibility even if servers are eventually taken offline.

For those yet to experience the game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
