Tarkov Wipe Unveils New Holiday Goodies!

Escape from Tarkov's highly anticipated wipe, originally slated for pre-New Year's, is finally confirmed! The delay, attributed to a simplified Kappa container quest, is over. Battlestate Games has announced the wipe will occur on December 26th at 7:00 AM GMT / 2:00 AM EST. Following maintenance (estimated 8 hours), the game will update to version 0.16.0.0 (Tarkov Arena to 0.2.5.0).

To compensate for downtime, Battlestate Games will host a New Year's Special Twitch stream at 4:00 PM GMT / 11:00 AM EST. Details remain under wraps, but expect exciting reveals!

Version 0.16.0.0 confirms the full game release remains on the horizon (likely 2025). However, significant updates are inbound:

Firstly, the anticipated migration to the Unity 2022 engine is expected. While planned for 2024, its implementation may introduce unforeseen challenges.

Secondly, a complete weapon recoil system overhaul is anticipated. This critical change will significantly impact gameplay.

New weaponry, including the RPG-26, is also on the cards. The Customs map will undergo a rework, promising interesting alterations. Bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements are confirmed, although the engine upgrade might introduce new issues. We'll have to wait and see!
