The Dark Knight's reign in the video game world was once a constant stream of new releases. Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series, in particular, revolutionized superhero gaming, setting a high bar that continues to influence the genre today.

But the Bat-signal has dimmed somewhat in recent years. A truly dedicated Batman game hasn't graced our screens since 2017's The Enemy Within, and there's currently no official word on a new standalone title. While comic book fans have a plethora of upcoming superhero games to anticipate, those craving a chance to don the cowl will have to delve into the past to uncover the truly best Batman games.

He featured prominently in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, though Rocksteady's game isn't strictly a solo Batman adventure. The Arkhamverse, however, expanded into VR.
