"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"

May 18,25(3 months ago)

Akatsuki Games has recently announced the end of service (EOS) for their latest title, Tribe Nine, which is hard to fathom given its launch was just a few months ago in February across Android, iOS, and PC (Steam). It's surprising to see such a promising game facing its demise so soon. Let's dive into the details.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine is set to officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this announcement, Akatsuki Games confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released. This is particularly disappointing as the game had just started teasing significant plot developments. As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. Any previously mentioned adjustments or new features in-game notices are no longer in the pipeline.

Additionally, two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will not be added. Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed after the Revenio contract concludes.

Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes are now disabled through both the app and web store. However, players can continue to use their existing Enigma Entities until Tribe Nine's official shutdown.

Why Did It Fail, So Soon?

Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG that boasts a unique style and rich worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game struggled from the start. The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Moreover, the game lacked compelling reasons for players to spend money. Players could build a strong team with just one pull, and duplicates weren't necessary, which was beneficial for players but detrimental to the developers' revenue model.

Opting for a gacha system seemed like a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it didn't yield the desired results. Despite this, the game remains playable until November 27th. If you haven't yet, give it a try on the Google Play Store.
