"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"
The much-anticipated Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, with its release now scheduled for October 2025. This latest postponement, announced in a recent update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, shifts the release from the previously planned first half of the year. However, this delay comes with the reassurance that the game is now complete.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
While the announcement of another delay is undoubtedly disappointing for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the sequel for years, the update video also brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative elements, and improved character development. They also teased an “evolved role” for the character Fabien in the storyline. However, fans should note that updates will be less frequent going forward, as mentioned in a recent post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
The development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019. Initially developed by Hardsuit Labs with a target release in Q1 2020, the game faced multiple delays, pushing the expected launch to late 2020, then to 2021. Amidst further delays and layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021, the development baton was eventually passed to The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, with one more delay, fans are set to finally experience the game in October 2025.
While uncertainty lingers about whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will successfully launch this fall, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. Looking ahead, Paradox has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful release, a different developer will be tasked with creating Bloodlines 3.
