Warriors: Abyss is a Roguelite Take on the Warriors Franchise, Out Today
Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another musou title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the genre. This roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to assemble a squad and battle hordes of enemies from an isometric perspective, reminiscent of Diablo and Hades. The gameplay involves forming a team to conquer the forces of "hell," confronting demonic foes. The trailer highlighted characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles utilize up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo plans post-launch character additions, beginning with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are teased, hinting at characters potentially from outside the Warriors franchise.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. A Dynasty Warriors Costume Set is offered as an in-game bonus, available until March 14, 2025.
