Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found within the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer:

The Lifer resides at the maze's center, beneath the giant tree's roots. An accessible entrance is located southwest of Oakheart Highcourt, near the Resonance Beacon. Utilize wall-climbing or the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer Board Game:

The Lifer is positioned beside a six-piece board game. Players (black pieces) aim to create a three-piece line before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. The game can be exited and resumed, preserving piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before removing buffs, as the Lifer will immediately attack.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs:

The Lifer possesses seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance, while three are permanent. Buff details are visible on a glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.

Removable Buffs (Fragility):

• Growing Loneliness: 10% Max HP recovery per second after 2+ seconds without attack.
• Desire for Escape: 25% ATK increase, plus an additional 25% DMG increase every 20 seconds.
• Impending Stalemate: 20% ATK increase per DMG instance (stacks to 4); stacks reset after 6 seconds without DMG.
• Decay of Time: 200% resistance to all elemental damage types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc) and a 25% Max HP increase.

Permanent Buffs (Stability):

• Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
• Endless Game: 50% reduction in Immobilization duration.
• Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after receiving >25% Max HP DMG in a single hit.

Obtaining the Stakes of Imbalance:

Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to four outer-ring rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a Stake of Imbalance (marked by a white glow), often requiring minor challenges (defeating Tacet Discords, breaking rocks). Place each Stake in the module near the corresponding winged statue to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful debuffing.

Defeating the Lifer:

After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (via the board game or "Fight it out!"). The debuffed Lifer is significantly weaker. Multiple victories yield various Supply Chests (Premium, Basic, Advanced, Standard). Buffs can be re-enabled for a more challenging fight, though no achievements are tied to this.

Lifer Achievements:

• The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
• The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all nine chests.
• Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
• Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.

For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines; it will eventually make mistakes.
