The Last Knight side quest adds depth to the Rinascita region, providing a glimpse into life beyond Ragunna City. It's significantly shorter and less demanding than quests like "Where Wind Returns to Celestial Realms," making it a manageable addition to your gameplay.

Starting the Quest

This quest unlocks after completing Chapter 2 of the main storyline ("What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing"). It's highly recommended to progress through the main story before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked until Chapter 2, Act 3 is finished. Once ready, locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven. He's near the first house by the main road, marked by a blue quest marker.

The Night Reveries

This involves participating in a performance honoring a legendary knight. This requires defeating the Mad Knight, who only appears at night (18:00 to 06:00). Find him at the town's central pool. He's not a particularly difficult opponent.

The Last Knight: Mimic Chests

After defeating the Mad Knight, locate Carlow near a large purple flower at the town's tallest tower. Interacting with the flower transports you to an area with chests. The first three are genuine; however, only one of the subsequent chests is real – the second chest in the middle-left. Opening the correct chest yields Astrites and other rewards, but be prepared to fight the mimic chests afterward.

The Knight's Trail and The Strange Scent

This section involves visiting locations associated with the Mad Knight and interacting with NPCs.

Following a conversation with Mr. Millkeeper, a strange scent leads you to a unique Chop Chop battle. The Leftless and Rightless are invulnerable, so it's recommended to use the Questless Knight Echo to parry attacks and stun the enemy.

Mr. Millkeeper reveals the "legendary knight" was a fabrication, prompting Carlow to flee.

Find Carlow

Return to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in a town plaza. He'll be confronted by knights. The quest concludes after Carlow challenges one to a duel, signifying his rejection of the fantasy and acceptance of his role as a protector. You'll receive Union XP, Astrites, and resources upon completion.
