The halls of Xavier’s Institute are buzzing once again in Marvel Snap, and this time, it's the New X-Men who are shaking up your matches. The card battler's May season is themed around a class full of rising stars, including the ambitious Esme Cuckoo, the electrifying Surge, and strategic minds like Prodigy, all ready to redefine the meta.

This month’s season pass introduces a fresh class of recruits, starting with Esme Cuckoo. A telepathic clone of Emma Frost, Esme has no patience for rules or hesitation. Her On Reveal effect pulls a card from your deck, tweaks its cost to three with four Power, and hands it to you like a loaded psychic grenade.

But she's just the beginning. Every week, a new Series 5 mutant hits the card pool, each adding a unique twist to your matchups. You'll be juggling cost reductions, copycat tactics, and resurrection tricks before the month's out. The upcoming characters include Surge, Prodigy, Elixir, and Xorn. Captain Carter’s seasonal pack also makes a return, in case you missed it before.

The new locations this month are equally dramatic. Pit of Exile shuts down big power plays before they even begin, forcing leaner builds and smarter sequencing. Meanwhile, Genosha sets up final turn bloodbaths by clearing all but your most expensive card at the buzzer. Both of these spots are ready to flip the script on your usual decks.

Outside the arenas, there’s more to chase. Marvel Snap is dropping three new collection albums this month. The first, launching on May 8th, is a Penny Arcade collaboration starring Mike Krahulik’s variants. That’s followed by a chibi-themed collection from Rian Gonzales on May 15th, and a disco-fueled dance fest landing on May 30th, featuring Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Dazzler in groove-worthy variants.
