Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku and want to challenge friends? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you compete against other players or teams. The goal is classic Sudoku: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before starting, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This sets the initial numbers, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone starts with the same puzzle.

Game Modes:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players, earning points. You can't use a number already placed by someone else. Speed and accuracy are key!
• Hidden Correct Numbers: Players can't see each other's correct numbers, allowing for multiple players to earn points with the same number.

Time-Outs:

Incorrect numbers result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable). You're blocked from playing while others continue.

Points:

Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct placement. Incorrect numbers cost you points (half the value of a correct answer).

Winning:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. If "Show Opponent's Correct Numbers" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves it, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by making fewer mistakes.

Team vs. Individual Play:

Team mode lets two teams compete. Join a team (1 or 2), and minimum two players per team are required. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/colors are shared amongst teammates, fostering collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle offers:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to empty squares. Selecting a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares (including solved ones).
