Japanese Mahjong: A Guide to the Game
This Japanese-style Mahjong game uses a slider at the bottom of the screen for tile selection and discarding. Tapping the slider selects a tile; tapping again discards it. The goal is to complete four melds and one pair.
Example hand: [1, 2, 3][6, 6, 6][6, 7, 8][N, N, N][4, 4]
Note: Hands are invalidated if you use Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. Be mindful of using 1 and 9 in Chi and Pon; this may result in an invalid hand. At least one hand is required.
Reaching a hand is possible by paying 1,000 points. However, Reach is not possible after using Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. Closed hands yield higher point values.
Lost Hand: A waiting hand that cannot win off another player's discard because the player already discarded a winning tile. Even if all winning tiles are present, a Lost Hand occurs if the player discarded a tile they needed. Self-draws are still possible. Crucially, you cannot win (Ron) off another player's discard of the tile you just discarded yourself. Winning (Ron) requires reasoning out winning hands from other players' discards.
