How to Play Okey Game

Okey is traditionally played with four players. The game uses a cue stick to help players sort their tiles, which come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. There are also two fake Okey tiles, making a total of 106 tiles in the game.

At the start, all tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed to the players. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into pairs or sets according to their cues.

Tiles not distributed are placed in the middle of the table. The open numbered tile here serves as the indicator stone, and the tile matching its color and number becomes the Okey Stone, which can substitute for any tile in the game. Finishing the game with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.

Normal Tile Arrangement in Okey Game:

Players aim to form at least three sets from the tiles in their hands. Sets can be:

• Series of the same color placed side by side.
• Groups of the same number in different colors placed side by side.

Pair Formation in Okey Game:

To end the game, a player must arrange all tiles into seven pairs and drag the last remaining tile to the middle of the table.

Indicator Rule in Okey Game:

At the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's the same color as the Okey, the other players lose 2 points.

End of Okey Game:

The game ends based on the final tile played:

• If the final tile is not an Okey, it's a normal finish. Points deducted depend on whether the tile is Okey-colored (4 points) or not (2 points).
• Finishing with seven pairs deducts 4 points from other players.
• Completing a color sequence from 1 to 13 sets other players' points to zero, ending the game.
• If all tiles are the same color but not in order, 8 points are deducted from other players.
