Monster Hunter Wilds Minimum Required Specs Will Be Lowered

Capcom recently shared a pre-release community update for Monster Hunter Wilds, covering console specifications, weapon refinements, and more. This article summarizes key announcements, including potential PC spec changes and the possibility of a second open beta.
Console Performance Goals Unveiled
The developers confirmed a day-one patch for PS5 Pro, enhancing visuals. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will offer "Prioritize Graphics" (4K/30fps) and "Prioritize Framerate" (1080p/60fps) modes. Xbox Series S will run natively at 1080p/30fps. A rendering bug affecting the framerate mode has been resolved.
While PS5 Pro enhancements are promised, specific details remain undisclosed.
PC players can expect performance to vary based on hardware and settings. While minimum specs were previously released, Capcom is actively working to lower these requirements for broader accessibility. Further details will be revealed closer to launch, along with the potential release of a PC benchmark tool.
Second Open Beta Under Consideration
A second open beta is being considered, primarily to allow players who missed the first opportunity to experience the game. However, this potential second beta will not include the improvements and adjustments detailed in the recent livestream. These changes will be exclusive to the full release.
The livestream also highlighted adjustments to hitstop and sound effects for increased impact, friendly fire mitigation, and weapon refinements, with particular attention given to the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Lance.
Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on February 28th, 2025, for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
